Comments: I was a part of ship's company that opened the base in the Spring of 1966. After one year duty, which included being assigned to Bldg 1 and Shore Patrol (under Chief Tuozzo and GM-1 Sawaicki), was sent to sea duty. Gulfport and the men were the greatest and hard workers. If anyone knows Jerry Donnelly, please let me know. I have been in contact with and Reid Gilsdorf. Again, a great bunch of guys.
