8-11-2022: For all those who were at Camp Lejeune - the attorneys who are flooding the TV channels about filing a lawsuit about the water problems don't say a word about how long you had to be there. They are saying that if you have one or more of the problems caused by the drinking water you may have a case. AND, there are a heck of a lot more than 1 law firm trying to sue them. In other words, why wouldn't you call the law firms if you have one or more of the problems and were for training on the 1st and 2nd deployments. For that matter, if you were there for training at all, call up the law firms and see if they can help you. It isn't going to cost you any $$ to call. If one law firm says they can't help you, keep calling until you find one who WILL help you. Don't EVER stop trying.Submitted by: K.L. "Cotton" Wells

MCB 62 "D" Co. 1972 to 1976. Just got back from the 2022 Gulfport Reunion. Met a lot of new friends and of course, my old company shipmates. Vern Poff, Russ Kissinger, Jeff Smyser, Ken Tims, Bert Blades and my 1st Class from two deployment details, (NCS Guam and Yokosuka Japan), Ret. SCPO Phil "RED" Haley. Red was our mentor, protector, friend, leader, and 1st in line to chew our ass when we screwed up. Those stories and others for another time. Wanted to say hello to all from those years if you happen to see this post and recognize these names, contact me please. We maintain contact with about 40 of us from that time frame. I found one more when I was at the reunion. Spoke with him after 47 years and it was amazing. Still brothers after a lifetime. It doesn't get any better than that. Let me know,Thanks,
Cotton Wells.

Happy 80th Anniversary to the Seabees!! My Uncle, Christy Schweitzer, enlisted in the Seabees in September 1942, just shy of his 40th Birthday. He was assigned to the 62nd Battalion. After helping to restore Pearl Harbor, his Battalion arrived at Iwo Jima. He is my hero; I only wish I could have met him. God bless the Seabees!!Submitted by: Norm Hahn, NMCB 62 Secretary
